Meet Jess: Business Development Manager at DekBoard

The DekBoard team is growing from strength to strength and we’re excited to introduce Jess, our new Business Development Manager.

What made you decide to work for DekBoard?

When I first started in the industry, I had never heard of DekBoard but within the last year working on holiday parks the DekBoard name has spread widely, and I see their active presence over social media. DekBoard is a company which has strong values and ethics which I am now seeing firsthand and is growing from strength to strength! Since I have been working for DekBoard, it is clear my colleagues and the management all support each other and nothing is too much.

What do you enjoy about working at DekBoard?

I enjoy the social aspect of the role, whether that is park teams or customers. I love the fact every day is different and comes with its own challenges. No day is the same!

What does your role involve, or what could a typical day look like for you?

A typical day would be jumping in my car and driving around the south coast. One day I can be by the sea and the next I can be in the forest. All parks are different in their own way and that is what I like the most. I assist parks and owners in creating their ideal DekBoard decks, by discussing their needs and requirements.

How do you achieve success in your role at DekBoard?

Some of the most important assets you need is communication, organisation and efficiency. I would describe myself as honest and reliable; by doing this it gains respect from parks, and they trust you. To be successful, it is all about knowing your product inside-out and understanding your target customers deeply so you can tailor your ideas to their need. Cultivate a strong mindset by staying resilient in the face of rejection, remaining curious, and being coachable enough to seek and apply feedback.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love spending quality time with my dogs, whether it’s going for scenic walks, teaching them new tricks, or visiting dog-friendly parks and cafes. I also really enjoy holidays and chasing the sun, and everything that comes with them. Planning trips, exploring new places, and even trying out international recipes at home to bring a bit of that travel magic into everyday life. Most of all, I value time with my loving fiancé. Whether we’re cooking together, having cozy movie nights, planning our future, or simply relaxing at home with our pets, those shared moments mean the most to me.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t wait for the perfect moment- take the moment and make it perfect.
