Meet Joe: Head of Sales at DekBoard

The DekBoard team is growing from strength to strength and we’re excited to introduce Joe our new Head of Sales.

What made you decide to work for DekBoard?

After a difficult 2024 personally, I made the decision to take a step back from my job and re-evaluate my career and ambitions. Not long after leaving, I spotted an exciting opportunity with DekBoard, the idea of being part of a fast-growing, forward-thinking business where I can contribute to growth projects while benefitting from strong training and development to evaluate my skills and career really excited me.
As this was in an industry I know well, I felt I could offer great value to DekBoard & I simply could not resist, and I am feeling very grateful for the opportunity and my decision to join the business as Head of Sales.

What do you enjoy about working at DekBoard?

Every day we are making steps forward, always working on the next project to make improvements and increase growth, which means every day is an exciting one! The team at DekBoard are incredible people with a strong belief in the business and the team continues to grow together, through training and new additions to the team. Building something together is what motivates me, and I get to do this every day.

What does your role involve, or what could a typical day look like for you?

A lot of meetings and calls with my sales team, and all departments within the business. I like to travel and meet with my team and our customers, I am always making plans and strategizing the next step forward. Aside from the meetings and travel, I am generally supporting my team with everything they require to do the roles to the best of their ability.

How do you achieve success in your role at DekBoard?

Careful planning, research, the will to succeed and of course working with driving and inspiring my team to achieve great results.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

My two little daughters keep me busy, and I absolutely love being a dad. When time allows, I like to watch as much sport (mainly football) as possible, I have recently started Karate and reading, to help me learn and fall asleep!

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Two have always stuck with me and I think of them all the time.

“Always do the job that needs doing, not just the one you were asked to do.”
It taught me to take initiative and think beyond my role, which has helped me grow professionally.

“Never stop learning, the moment you think you know it all is the moment you stop growing.”
This advice stuck with me early in my career. It’s a reminder to stay curious, ask questions, and always look for ways to improve.
